According to research from the Kiddo Group (UWA 2019), the gross motor skills of our children in Perth have declined over the last 25 years, reflecting feedback often heard from teachers that children aren't entering school with the same skills levels as they used to.  

 

This gross motor co-ordination forms a solid base for children's fine motor skill development and in turn, their handwriting. Gross motor and whole body activities can always be used to help switch on the body for fine motor success.
